Reporting to the Senior Business Partner of Risk & Insurance Services, the Insurance Services Coordinator will independently manage and oversee the organisation's self-managed Motor Vehicle Insurance Program. This assignment is part time - 2 days pers week in office.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Motor Claims Management: Coordinate repairs, assessments, legal demands, and third-party recoveries for a massive fleet of over 4,000 vehicles.

  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Liaise with internal mechanical/operational teams, legal representatives, claims consultants, and a state-wide network of repairers to minimise vehicle downtime.

  • Reporting & Data Analysis: Maintain the in-house online claims database and deliver high-quality quarterly forecasting, status reports, and business intelligence to the Chief Risk Officer.

  • Liability & Dispute Resolution: Make definitive decisions on claim liabilities, negotiate settlements, and coordinate legal debt recovery services.

  • Training & Capability Building: Travel/engage state-wide to deliver training on insurance processes and update internal guidelines, manuals, and intranet resources.

What We Are Looking For

  • Insurance Expertise: Proven experience managing motor vehicle insurance claims in compliance with the Road Safety Act and Insurance Contracts Act.

  • Outstanding Communication: Superior interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills to confidently manage relationships with diverse stakeholders (from internal executives to external contractors and legal teams).

  • Strong Reporting Capabilities: Excellent computer literacy (MS Office and insurance databases) with a sharp ability to analyse data, track financial profiles, and compile executive-ready reports.

  • Autonomy & Drive: A high level of attention to detail and the capability to work independently under minimal supervision while remaining a collaborative team player.

Prerequisites & Compliance

  • Must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid Working with Children Check.

  • Alignment with robust community values, including a strict commitment to child safety, diversity, and workplace safety.

  • Readiness to participate in occasional incident management support roles as appropriate to your experience.
